The Evidence-Based Nurturing Parenting Program builds protective factors in families that, when present, increase the health and well-being of children and families.

The Nurturing Parenting Program is a family-centered initiative designed to build nurturing parenting skills. The goal is to provide families with the information and skills they need to most effectively care for and nurture their children, develop supports and create a healthy environment in which their children will thrive.

Nurturing Parenting classes are 7-12 sessions in length and offered in community settings. The classes include activities on positive parenting skills , communication, and healthy physical and emotional development.  Classes are designed to build self-awareness, positive self-esteem, and empathy; teach positive discipline; enhance family communication and teach role/developmental expectations.

Nurturing Parenting classes are offered in the following Tennessee counties: Cannon, Clay, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Smith, Van Buren, Warren, and White.
