Family Support Specialist Competency Course

The Family Support Specialist Coalition, led by Tennessee Voices, is a coalition to promote statewide connection and resource sharing among Family Support Specialists.

Required Training:

Introduction to Pyramid Model is required prior to all Foundational Modules.

*These modules recommended after a foundational understanding of the Pyramid Model Framework has been established

Preschool Pyramid Model Foundational Modules

Module 1: Nurturing and Responsive Relationships (4 Hours)
Module 2: High Quality and Supportive Environments (4 hours)
Module 3: Teaching Social Emotional Skills (3 hours)
Module 4: Individualizing Social Emotional Skills (1 hour) *
Module 5: Addressing Challenging Behavior (4 hours) *
Module 6: An Overview of Prevent-Teach-Reinforce for Young Children (1 hour) *

Infant/Toddler Pyramid Model Foundational Modules

Module 1: The Pyramid Model & Supporting Social Emotional Development (1 hour)
Module 2: Focusing on Relationships (1.5 hours)
Module 3: Responsive Routines, Schedules, and Environments (1.5 hours)
Module 4: Understanding Behavior (1 hour)
Module 5: Teaching About Feelings (1 hour)
Module 6: Individualized Teaching (2 hours) *
Module 7: Challenging Behavior (2 hours) *
