Youth Move TN
Improve services that support positive growth and development by uniting the voices of individuals who have lived experience in various systems including mental health, juvenile justice, education, and child welfare.
Tennessee Move Initiative
The System of Care Expansion grant provided by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (TDMHSAS) funds the Youth M.O.V.E. (Motivating Others through Voices of Experience) Tennessee program.
Youth M.O.V.E. Tennessee is a chapter of Youth M.O.V.E. National, a youth-led national organization devoted to improving services and systems that support growth and development by uniting the voices of individuals who have lived experience in various systems including mental health, juvenile justice, education, and child welfare. Youth M.O.V.E. Tennessee consists of multiple councils made up of middle and high school students in Hickman, Rutherford, or Williamson county that work together to stomp out the stigma of mental health and raise awareness around youth issues. Councils consist of both students who do and do not have mental health diagnoses. The councils advocate for youth rights and voice in mental health and the other systems that serve youth, for the purpose of empowering youth to be equal partners in the process of change. TVC’s Statewide Youth M.O.V.E. staff work together as coaches and mentors for youth councils by assisting in program development, activity planning, advocacy training, and mental health case management.
If you are interested in becoming involved in one of our councils, please fill out the Youth M.O.V.E. Application and send to email@example.com
Service Delivery Program
Youth Engagement Specialists work with youth and families to provide individualized service plans that promote the strengths of the family and positive involvement of all providers and youth-serving professionals during the service delivery.
The youth and family work together on specific family-centered, youth-driven goals by addressing cultural and mental health needs. These combined efforts work to provide a comprehensive wrap-around service that promotes improved services and supports positive growth for all involved.
If you are working with or are a parent of a youth with a mental, behavioral, or emotional health issue that you would like to involve in our program, please fill out the Youth M.O.V.E Referral Form and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org
